SciFinder-n provides access to Chemical Abstracts online and to CASReact, a reaction database. Use is limited to Vanderbilt students, faculty, and staff in support of teaching and research. This does NOT include patentability research or any research done for a for-profit organization or project.
Terms and Conditions of Use
- I will not share my username and password with any other person
- I will search only for myself and not for others or other organizations
- I will not use any automated program or script for extracting or downloading CAS data, or any other systematic retrieval of data
- I may retain a maximum of 5,000 records at any given time for personal use or to share within a project team for the duration of the project.
- My organization’s SciFinder License and the CAS Information Use Policies apply to my use of SciFinder
SciFinder-n on the Web requires individual registration and logon for each use.
To register for an account, go to the CAS SciFinder Registration Form and follow the instructions. You will be asked to enter contact information and to choose a username and password. The only required information is your name, email address (must be a Vanderbilt domain email address), username and password. After you submit the form, CAS will send you an email message with instructions for completing the registration process.
Once you have registered, access SciFinder Web from the library’s database list or the Chemistry Database page. Bookmarks will not work off campus
