Friends of Vanderbilt's Libraries

If you enjoy literary and musical evenings with notable thinkers, fascinating exhibits, cultural and political discussions and access to world-class resources, then we need to be friends! The Friends of Vanderbilt's Libraries are an active group who support and advocate for the libraries by engaging and inspiring the Vanderbilt and Nashville communities.

Who can be a Friend of Vanderbilt's Libraries?

  • Vanderbilt alumni
  • Vanderbilt students
  • Vanderbilt faculty and staff
  • Community members who are involved with the Vanderbilt Libraries
  • Heard Society members ($2500+) and other benefactors who:
    • Honor someone with a book purchase
    • Endow a collection
    • Fund a Visiting Scholar
    • Sponsor an exhibition
    • Adopt-a-book
    • Process a manuscript collection
    • Make a bequest
    • Donate to a particular library or the library system
  • Attendees of lectures, workshops, tours and special library events
  • Library volunteers          

We hope you’ll join the hundreds of students, faculty, alumni, and community members whose support make all this possible.

As a Friend, you receive:

  • Invitations to lectures, workshops, tours and special library events
  • Subscription to Primary Source, an e-newsletter published five times per year that highlights library happenings
  • Opportunities for special tours and presentations
