How To Be an AntiRacist

The 2020 Summer reading for the Owen community will be  How to be an Antiracist  by Ibram X. Kendi.

Students, faculty, and staff should have received an e-mail from Dean Johnson with a link to claim the ebook How to be an Antiracist. The library also has some electronic copies of the book available as well as audiobooks. Copies are limited, so if they are all checked out you will need to wait for a copy to become available. 
If you have ebook access or downloading issues, or require an alternative format, please let us know at and we will be happy to explore other available options with you.

Instructions to redeem the ebook emailed to you -  

     1. Click the link you received in your email from Dean Johnson or copy & paste the URL into a browser

     2. Select Accept this eBook and if prompted, log-in to your Amazon account. If you receive a Kindle book gift at an email address that is not associated with your device or reading app, select Use a Different Amazon Account

     Note: If you do not live in the same country as the person who gave you the Kindle book gift, the book may not be available to you due to copyright restrictions. In these cases, you are given the option to request an exchange for an Gift Card on your account during the redemption process.

    3. Once you have signed in, you can select the device to send the eBook to from the drop-down menu or choose to read it on the Cloud Server.


    4. Once you have accepted the book, you can always find it again under your Account & Lists --> Your Content and Devices

     5. Click the ellipsis button (...) next to the book title and you can choose a device to send the book to or 'Read Now' in your browser.
