What to Know Before You Visit
The Jean and Alexander Heard Libraries are open to the VU community and visitors of Vanderbilt community members including parents, friends, prospective students and visiting researchers. Alumni and emerita are able to visit the libraries at any time during open hours with their VU card. Find details on visitor access and hours for each of our library locations. In all we do, we’re following current university protocols.
Note: Special Collections and University Archives are open by appointment to the campus community and visiting scholars for research.
Our Library Staff Are Here to Help
Ask a Librarian about using the libraries, finding materials you need, and navigating the research process. Research help is also available via Live Chat located on the library homepage. You can also meet with a subject librarian virtually or in person.
To schedule a one-on-one consultation related to research and/or teaching, contact your subject librarian.
