Heard Society

Charitable gifts from alumni and friends provide critical support for our libraries, which are central to Vanderbilt’s educational mission. The Heard Society recognizes financial support of Vanderbilt Libraries by those who make annual gifts of $2,500 or more. Alumni who received their Vanderbilt degree within the last 10 years are eligible for membership with an annual gift of $1,000. There are four recognition levels:

Member: $2,500 ($1,000 for recent graduates)
Benefactor: $5,000–$9,999
Dean's List: $10,000–$24,999
Cornelius Vanderbilt: $25,000+

Heard Society members lead the way in helping us build collections, make innovative resources available, and offer contemplative and collaborative spaces for research and study.

Recognition of Heard Society members includes:

  • Primary Source, an e-newsletter published five times per year that highlights Library happenings
  • Invitations to lectures, workshops, tours and special library events
  • Recognition in our published online donor list
  • Opportunities for special tours and presentations
