Microfilm, Newspapers, and Periodicals
Microfilm
Central Library houses a large collection of microfilm, including historical newspapers, historical documents, correspondence, papers, government documents, and other primary source material. All material can be found in Government Information and Media Services (GIMS) on the 4th floor. Researchers may use and browse microfilm on readers and scanners located at GIMS to make and print copies and to scan images of items to email. See more about our collections.
Newspapers
Current print newspapers can be found in the Payne Room on the 6th floor (see below). Historical and back issues of selected newspapers can be found on microfilm at Government Information and Media Services on the 4th floor. See more about our holdings.
Periodicals
Current and back issues (how far back depends on the publication) of selected print newspapers and periodicals can be found in the Payne Room on the 6th floor of Central Library. There is also access to a photocopier-scanner machine should you wish to scan any pages from periodicals.
