The library is a life-long benefit to all Vanderbilt alumni. We are delighted to have you visit virtually or in person!Library benefits for Vanderbilt alumni include:
- Access to a select group of specially licensed digital resources and databases
- Borrowing privileges at all campus libraries
- Expert assistance by professional librarians
Digital Resources and Databases
When on campus, alumni may access most of the library’s electronic resources available in campus libraries. The library is also able to offer remote, off-campus, access to a select group of specially licensed alumni databases. To gain remote access, alumni will need a VUNet ID. If you do not already have a VUNet ID, request one by submitting the request via the Ask a Librarian button. To expedite the request, please indicate the school from which you graduated, and the year of graduation. Those alumni who graduated 2011 and later can re-authenticate a VUNetID and change their ePassword on the VUIT AccessVU - Existing Users page.
All Vanderbilt graduates are encouraged to borrow books from the library free of charge. The Commodore Card provides borrowing privileges to all Vanderbilt libraries. To obtain a card after graduation, please visit Vanderbilt’s Card Services office.
Questions? Stop by a library service desk on your next trip to campus or feel free to send us a note. Librarians with subject and discipline expertise provide alumni with information consultation services, in person and by email. You can always Ask a Librarian.
