About the Project
In this fellowship, students collaborated with mentors to create a public humanities project about archival theory called “What I Found.” The project had two components: (1) recorded media (a short podcast or video series) in which a scholar shares one thing they found in the archive and (2) a newsletter with transcriptions and further resources. While presenting micronarratives of history, “What I Found” also engaged implicitly with insights from archival theory. The fellowship gave fellows the opportunity to engage with the process of turning scraps from archives into history, while exploring questions about the object and its meaning.
