About the Project
In this project, which explored how artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming every stage of the scholarly communication lifecycle, Fellows created a series of short, engaging explainer videos to build AI literacy among students and researchers. Fellows researched, scripted, and designed clear, visually appealing videos that explain how AI is influencing key parts of the research process—authoring, peer review, publishing, discovery, and assessment. Students gained a practical understanding of the scholarly communication ecosystem and how AI tools are reshaping it; learned to critically evaluate opportunities and ethical challenges in AI-assisted research; and developed valuable skills in digital storytelling and visual communication.

Project
Students' videos (AI & Authorship in Research and AI & Literature Discovery) serve as accessible learning resources for the campus community and beyond, supporting the Libraries’ mission to promote digital literacy, open scholarship, and responsible AI and technology use while creating reusable educational materials for instruction, workshops, and outreach.
