Biography/History
William H. Witt was born in Lynnville, Tennessee (Giles County). He attended the
Webb School, received a B.A. from Vanderbilt, and in 1894 he received a M.D. from
Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He served in the U. S. Army Medical
Corp. in France from 1912-1919.
Scope and Contents
This collection contains a dinner speech titled "McGuffey and his Readers"
which was delivered before the Old Oak Club on March 26, 1938. It also contains
one program from the testimonial dinner in honor of Dr. William H. Witt on February
14, 1951, for his 85th Birthday Celebration. The program contains the printed
remarks from the following people:
