Memorabilia Collection
The Memorabilia Room houses cultural artifacts relating to the history of Vanderbilt University and George Peabody College. It also includes large items which are too large to be stored alongside their accompanying manuscript collections. Some of the unique objects available for research include:
a Union cavalryman's sword;
a quilt composed of squares from costumes worn by legendary opera singer Enrico Caruso;
doorknobs, gifts from Cornelius Vanderbilt, from the house of Bishop Holland McTyeire;
a death mask of Merrill Moore, Vanderbilt alumnus and poet;
letterman sweaters and athletic uniforms;
academic regalia.
