Andrew Nelson Lytle Papers (Addition)

Series VI. Biographical/Personal Information, 1921-1995
Box 21-23

Biographical and personal information is included in the sixth series. This series contains information regarding clippings, financial information, invitations, the Monteagle Sunday School Assembly, 103 photographs, student days, and other information. A few folders containing fragmented material are also included. There is also oversize material included in this series.

Within the first folder of this series is a letter written by Lytle in regards to his "family articles" that he has given to his children and grandchildren. The document is a list of items (family articles), to whom they were given to and their dates. The letter states the document was written after Lytle's 78th birthday. Signed and dated by Lytle.

This series contains a fare amount of genealogical data, probably used for his novel, A Wake for the Living.

Also included within this series is a guestbook for the "Celebration of Andrew Nelson Lytle's ninetieth birthday on the occasion of the Sewanee Review Centennial. Convocation Hall, The University of the South. November 8, 1992." Signatures of attendees are included.

Another note of interest is an invitation to Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson's wedding on July 23, 1986 aboard the S.S. Queen Elizabeth 2.

Lytle's passports from 1921 and 1924 are contained in this series as well. The 1924 passport is from Lytle's European tour in which he later wrote his Journal of European Tour: 1 July - 6 September 1924.
