Biography/History
Stewart Brooks was born in 1867 and graduated from Vanderbilt University with a B.S. in 1888, and a LL.B. in 1890. He practiced law in Nashville, Tennessee and Mobile,
Alabama, handling real estate, estates, taxes, probate cases, disability claims, etc. He died in 1942.
Scope and Contents
This .21 linear feet collection contains three law docket books that list his clients, the types of legal matters he handled for them, and the costs for services.
- Docket Book #1: August 20, 1890 - June 21, 1883
- Docket Book #2: September 14, 1893 - July 23, 1895
- Docket Book #3: August 6, 1895 - April 24, 1899
