Serial Publications Finding Aids

It is regarded as an obligation of the archives to acquire copies of record for all serials issued by Vanderbilt University and related entities. This effort entails identification, collection, and cataloging in Acorn of approximately forty current administrative, alumni, and student publications. Files of University titles that have ceased publication are also maintained with Acorn records. Current and former publications which are uncataloged, of an ephemeral nature, or for a limited audience are collected and maintained in Special Collections and accessed through an in-house database.

Listed on the following pages are the serials we currently hold and maintain. If the serial is cataloged, its call number is listed; if uncataloged, it will say "Serials File," indicating that it is in a separate file. All former titles of the publications are listed after the current title for ease of reference. Finding aids are available for some serials; click on the serial title to view. The finding aid contains photo(s) of the cover(s) of the first issue and, in most cases, the last/most recent issue. It also gives information on former titles, publication dates, and other useful information. You may choose to view our serials alphabetically or by subject.

Alphabetical Listing
A complete listing of our serials alphabetically by title with finding aids to accompany them.

Subject Listing
A listing of our serials arranged by subject area. This list may not contain all serials. A note accompanies a subject area if ephemeral pieces (found in our separate Ephemeral Publications collection) are available for the subject.

Student Publications Bibliography (684KB PDF file)
Library staff members compiled a bibliography of student publications in the late 1960s. It maintains its original content (not updated since 1970). All serials and their accompanying information in the bibliography are integrated into the finding aids above; however, the bibliography in its original form is a valuable research tool as well.
