Athletic Video Finding Aids
We house all archived footage from the Athletic Department for Football, Men's Basketball, and Women's Basketball. We offer conversion services for the majority of these items. They can also be viewed during regular business hours in our department.
Types of Items in the Collection
- Film (16mm) -- Football, Men's Basketball -- 1920s through 1988
- Tapes (VHS, SVHS, Beta, U-Matic, MII, Broadcast) -- Football, Men's and Women's Basketball -- late 1940s through early 2000s
- DVDs -- Football, Men's Basketball -- various dates based on past patron requests

Conversion Services
We provide limited conversion services for Vanderbilt alumni and friends. Generally, we can convert any of the films or tapes to DVD, with some exceptions:
- Film:
- Some of the older film is so degraded that it is unsafe to run it through our film projector. Therefore, these films cannot be viewed or converted.
- While Vanderbilt owns the copyright to most of the footage in this collection, there are some exceptions - namely, TV broadcasts. Patrons who desire copies of this footage will need to contact the original broadcaster.
- Tapes: We do not have the necessary equipment to play/convert any of the formats other than VHS. This includes SVHS, U-Matic, MII, Broadcast, and any other unspecified tape format.
- Film: $0.03 per foot of film
- Tape or DVD: $9.00 each
- Shipping: $5.00 per order
