Access Sarah: a customizable browser toolbar for quick access to library resources

Access Sarah provides one-click access from your browser (Internet Explorer or Firefox - sorry no Safari) to Stevenson Science and Engineering Library resources. Its customizable features allow you to choose the buttons and drop-down menus that best suit your research needs.

To customize the toolbar, simply select the "Options" button once Access Sarah has been installed.
Changes are made to the toolbar dynamically. (Note: some features not supported by Firefox)

Internet Explorer version 1.3 (Release: Feb. 7, 2008) System requirements: Internet Explorer 5.0+, PC)
Firefox version 1.3 (Release: Feb. 7, 2008) System requirements: Firefox 1.0+, Mac or PC, no Safari version)

Note: Version 1.3 makes many changes to the Access Sarah options, including a link under Acorn options to the new DiscoverLibrary search interface. Try it and let us know what you think.

Toolbar Features

	Quick links to Stevenson Library home page, hours, news and tools to customize, update or uninstall your toolbar.
	Enter search terms in the search box, then choose the search engine you would like to search: Acorn, EJournals Locator, Worldcat, Goggle, or Goggle Scholar.
	Navigate to the native Acorn interface for basic or advanced searching, account login and renewing materials. Specialized search for DVDs/Videos and and theses/dissertations.
	Fast access to the E-Journal Locator, popular science journals and lists of Science and Engineering electronic journals by publisher.
	Fast access to the list of Science and Engineering research databases by subject, or from A to Z.
	Links to VU home, Webmail, OAK, OASIS, People Finder etc.
	Links to WorldCat, Kudzu, Athena, Goggle Scholar, MS Academic Live and other catalogs and databases.
	Links to library resources by subject pages maintained by Stevenson librarians. Also links to library contact info, ILL, patents/trademarks and maps.
	Customize the Access Sarah toolbar to meet your needs.

Updating Access Sarah

The most recent version of Sarah will always be posted on this page. To check for the latest version and update your toolbar, please visit this page, and click on the download link to proceed with installation of the new version of the toolbar.

You may also update the toolbar by choosing "Update Sarah" under the Access Sarah logo dropdown menu. This bypasses a manual reinstallation of the toolbar.

Re-installing / Uninstalling Access Sarah:

To re-install your toolbar, click on the download link on this page, and proceed with the installation.

To uninstall the toolbar, select 'Uninstall Toolbar' from the drop-down menu under the Access Sarah logo button.
