Instructions for the Separating Marcive Monthly Load
The ‘Marcive Monthly Load’ contains all the catalog records we
receive from our vendor, Marcive, in a given month for
FDLP (
The main point of the monthly load project is to separate out the records of AVAILABLE ONLINE items (EL or electronic resources) from the records for paper, microfiche, and CD/DVD items.
G:/GOVDOCS/Monthly Loads – Marcive/
Within that folder they are arranged by year and month, with a folder for each
month.
The steps in the project are:

*****This items belong on the the NO list
4. If the record in question belongs on the NO list, do nothing….simply go on to the next record.
5. If the record belongs on the AO-EL list, simply cut and past the entire record into that list. It works best if you also copy the line that separates the records, so that they don’t all run together on the page.
6. If you need to stop working on the NO list before it is completed, PLEASE leave a highlighted line so the next person will know where to start.
7. Finally, if you have any questions, please ask your supervisor….it will save time in the long run. Simply highlight the entire record in the NO list and go on to the next if a supervisor is not available.
Thanks.
