About the Project

The Library is pursuing exciting opportunities to develop new spaces within the Central Library for study and community activities. In response to needs identified in last year’s LibQUAL+ survey and conversations across the campus, we envision an enhanced public space on the 8th floor as the first phase of a larger set of projects in development. Students and faculty will be involved in planning to ensure that the project results in a library that meets the needs of the entire Vanderbilt community.

In preparation for this work, we are shifting some collections within the building and moving infrequently used materials to the Library Annex where they can be retrieved and delivered to campus, usually within a few hours.

We hope that the facility and service improvements will outweigh any inconvenience. While we make every effort to minimize disruption in study areas, we ask for your patience during this time as we strive to provide better spaces and more efficient services for you.

If you have any questions, please contact the the renovation team.
