Mission Statement

The mission of the Peabody Library Instruction Program is to foster the development of Peabody students, faculty and staff with the competencies to determine when information is needed; access information in all formats; evaluate information and its sources; and use information effectively and ethically.

Created by the Peabody Library Instruction Team on October 31, 2002. Adapted from: Mission Statement from the Library Instruction Program at New Mexico State University. (2001, August 13). Retrieved October 31, 2002, from http://lib.nmsu.edu/instruction/about/mission&values.PDF.

Course-Related Instruction

The purpose of the Peabody Library Instruction Program is to offer a variety of instructional techniques to meet user needs. Course-related instructional sessions are scheduled by faculty and are related to an assignment on which the class is working. This policy is to aid faculty in scheduling a course-related instructional session that will meet the needs of both faculty and students.
