If you have your own laptop and a VUNet ID, you can connect to the university's wireless system. Sign in to the VU ITS Web site for instructions for getting connected.

You can also set up your laptop so that you can print on the university's public printers from your laptop. Get more information and at the VUPrint Printing from Wireless Laptops Web site.

If you do not have your own laptop, you can check one out from the service desk at Peabody Library. We have Dell Latitude laptops running Windows 7 with Office 2007. We also have MacBooks , running OS 10.4 and Office 2008. The MacBooks have DVD burners and iLife software such as iMovie, GarageBand, and iDVD. Note: These laptops are set up for the university's wireless network, and will not connect to other wireless networks.

Laptops can be checked out for 8 hours. If demand is high, laptops cannot be renewed. A laptop can be checked out overnight if you pick it up after 6:00 pm. You can find out more at the Heard Library Circulating Laptops site.
