The Youth Collection is located upstairs in the Peabody Library. Every item in the collection can be located on ACORN, Vanderbilt's online catalog. The Youth Collection contains materials suitable for the K-12 school library collection and supports Peabody College's teacher education program.
Students, faculty, and staff can find a wide range of excellent children's literature for use in classes, tutoring, student teaching, reading to a child, storytelling, and personal enjoyment/enrichment. The collection is especially strong in picture books for children and in young adult literature. Filmstrip/cassette combinations and videotapes of well-known children's books, authors, and illustrators are also available.
The check-out period for undergraduates, alumni, and staff is 21 days; 90 days for graduate students and library staff; and 365 days for Vanderbilt faculty.
