What does the library offer?

Who can use the patent and trademark collection?
The Stevenson Science and Engineering Library is a Patent and Trademark Depository Library and is open to the public for patent and trademark information.

What are the library hours of operation?
Hours vary during the year. To check current hours, please visit Hours of Service.

Can library staff do a patent or trademark search for me?
Reference staff will show you how to search the patent and trademark databases and aid you in developing a search strategy, but are unable to perform a patent or trademark search for you.

Where is the Stevenson Science and Engineering Library?
On the ground floor of the Stevenson Science Center (see map). Access is most direct through the breezeway on the southeast corner of the building. Visitors who use a wheelchair should consult the Opportunity Development Center's campus map for accessible entrances to the Stevenson Center.

Where can I park when visiting the library?
Pay parking is available in the Wesley Place Parking Garage (see map) at the intersection of 21st Avenue South and Scarritt Place, across the street from the General Library Building.

What is included in the patent and trademark collection?
The CASSIS (Classification and Search Support System) database is available for searching patents and trademarks. The CASSIS database indexes patents issued between 1969 and the present and all active and expired trademarks. The Library has the full text of patents on DVD-ROM:
* Utility Patents 1790 - present
* Design Patents 1842 - present

The Trademarks Registered and Trademarks Pending files, also part of the CASSIS database, include all currently active registrations and pending applications up to the date of the last DVD-ROM received.
