Our Staff: Holling Smith-Borne has been the Director of the Music Library since 2006. Previously, he was the Coordinator of the music library at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana (1997-2006), and the Music and Fine Arts Librarian at Butler University in Indianapolis from 1992-1997. He holds a B.M. in piano performance from Bowling Green State University, and a M.I.L.S. from the University of Michigan with a specialization in music librarianship. Holling is active in the Music Library Association, currently serving as Member-At-Large on the Board of Directors and as Chair of the Education Committee. In previous years, he chaired the Social Responsibilities Roundtable and was a member of the Electronic Reference Services Subcommittee. He is also active in the Music OCLC Users Group, where he recently served as the Treasurer and is part of the Midwest Chapter of the Music Library Association where he served as the chair of the Public Services Committee for five years. Beutter Manus, M.A., M.L.S., Music Librarian for Public Services Sara Beutter Manus is the Music Librarian for Public Services at the Anne Potter Wilson Music Library. She is responsible for circulation and access services at the library, and she provides bibliographic instruction to students in the Blair School of Music. Sara is a member of the Committee on Undergraduate Information Literacy, and she is a member of the planning group for the Reference and Instruction Forum. Sara is also the ex officio member representing the Music Library on the Blair Technology Committee. Sara received a B.A. in music (emphasis in music history) from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana . She also holds a M.A. in musicology and a M.L.S. with a specialization in music librarianship, both from Indiana University, Bloomington . She is a member of the Music Library Association, where she currently serves as Co-Chair of the Social Responsibilities Roundtable, and the Southeast Music Library Association. Steven Nordstrom, M.A., M.L.S., Music Librarian/Cataloging Steven Nordstrom, Music Librarian at the Anne Potter Wilson Music Library, is responsible for all aspects of cataloging. In doing so, he provides descriptions of and points of access to all items held by the library for ACORN, the online catalog. Steven is also involved with the Global Music Archive, one of the Heard Library's digital initiatives. Steven recently completed his M.L.S. with a specialization in music librarianship at Indiana University, Bloomington. He also holds a B.A. in the humanities (with an emphasis in music) and a M.A. in musicology, both from Brigham Young University. Steven is a vocalist who enjoys singing with choirs. Michael oversees student workers, assists patrons with the collection, and makes streaming audio reserves available through OAK. Robert Rich, B.M., M.M., Reference Assistant Robert Rich is a Reference Assistant at the Anne Potter Wilson Music Library. In addition to providing reference services, he processes interlibrary loan requests, maintains the current periodicals, prepares materials for the bindery, orders office supplies, purchases acquisitions and acts in various administrative assistant roles. Robert serves on the Research Services Committee and is one of the Jean and Alexander Heard Library’s representatives on the University Staff Advisory Council. Robert earned a B.M. in piano performance with highest honors from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 1981.
