Find Articles: RILM: Contains abstracts for articles, books, and conference proceedings, with subject coverage in musicology, ethnomusicology, theory, and analysis. Coverage is international in scope, and includes entries from 1966 through the present. RILM currently contains more than 464,000 entries, and most have English abstracts. International Index to Music Periodicals (IIMP) Full Text - This database contains more than 500,000 citations for articles in music periodicals. Citations are available for more than 430 music periodicals, and IIMP has full text coverage of 110 journals. Both popular and scholarly journals are indexed, and include the topics of music education, performance, ethnomusicology, musical theatre, popular music, theory, and composition. JSTOR (The Scholarly Journal Archive): A full-text database containing the complete back-runs of 32 scholarly music journals. RIPM (Retrospective Index to Music Periodicals): This database provides citations for journal articles written between 1800 and 1950. This resource contains more than 465,000 records, and features access to many primary source materials. RIPM currently favors content from European music periodicals, but it will soon have more coverage of American periodicals. The Historical New York Times: A full-text database containing the complete contents of The New York Times from 1851 through 2003. This database is particularly helpful for locating concert reviews from performances in New York City, as well as concert advertisements and obituaries.
