The Law Library, a division of the Jean and Alexander Heard Library of Vanderbilt University, supports the Vanderbilt University Law School curriculum and the research interests of our faculty and students. As a division of Vanderbilt University's Heard Library, the Law Library also provides access to a broad range of non-legal resources, including business, science, and medical publications. The Law Library is open to the local bar as well as to the general public.

The library offers students equipment from iPads to umbrellas for loan and use. Find out about loan policies.


To find print reserves at a campus library, search the Acorn catalog by instructor, course name or course number.

To find electronic reserves, use Blackboard.

Opportunities for Students

Dean's Fellows, Spring 2015The library Dean’s Fellow Program provides opportunities for students to work on significant and scholarly research projects.

The paid fellowships are available to upper class undergraduates and graduate students and require a 20 hour/week commitment.
