How Do I---Find Books?
To find out what's in the libraries, search ACORN
to identify the library and call number for each book. A quick search
using keywords can be started from the Quick Search box to
the right.
For more thorough searching, choose the ACORN
link below.
If you're looking for a specific book title
or books by a particular author, search by author or title using
either the keyword or 'begins with' search options.
If you're looking for books on a particular
topic, try a keyword subject search. Then as you find titles of
interest, follow the subject links to locate more books on the same
topic.
If you can't find the books you need at Vanderbilt,
they may be available at other libraries in the Nashville area.
The databases of these libraries can be searched using Athena.
Identify books from the libraries of UTK and UK by searching the
database called IRIS. To obtain books found in Athena and
IRIS, complete an online Interlibrary Loan request form and the
book will be delivered within one week.
To locate books from elsewhere, use the database
called WorldCat, the largest listing of books available around
the world. Books found in WorldCat can be requested through interlibrary
loan and take from 2 to 4 weeks to arrive.
