Search Full-text Electronic Journal Collections
The following databases are collections of
full-text electronic journals. In most cases the ejournal collections
may be searched individually or collectively. Access is limited
to Vanderbilt users only. Please check the Heard Library
list of ejournals for a comprehensive
alphabetical list of the ejournals available to the Vanderbilt community.
Note that Vanderbilt students, faculty and staff using an outside
Internet service provider from off campus may
be prompted for their VUnet IDs and password.
- ACM
Digital Library (Association for Computing Machinery)
This is a large resource of citations, abstracts and full-text
articles for the educational and scientific computing society.
Full-text access to the ACM journal collection only. Full text
articles from 1991 forward. Tables of contents from 1985 forward.

Searchable database of the digitized images of the pages of over
1,500 American magazines and journals published between 1740 and
1900.

Access is from 1999 to full-text of journals for which Vanderbilt

Reviews
Full-text annual reviews in the biomedical, physical, and social
sciences.
- BioOne
BioOne brings to the Web a uniquely valuable aggregation of high-impact
bioscience research journals. Most of these titles are published
by small societies and non-commercial publishers, and, until now,
have been available only in printed form. BioOne provides integrated,
cost-effective access to a thoroughly linked information resource
of interrelated journals focused on the biological, ecological
and environmental sciences.

Emerald Fulltext contains the full text of journal articles published
from 1994 to date, in both HTML and PDF format, from over 100
journals, published by the MCB University Press. In addition abstracts
are also provided for articles back to 1989. This makes a growing
library of over 35,000 articles, updated on a weekly basis in
advance of the printed journal.

- JSTOR
JSTOR, an electronic journal storage project, is a developing
effort to build a reliable and comprehensive archive of important
scholarly journal literature. It currently includes fulltext of
journals in the areas of ecology, economics, finance, history,
mathematics, political science, and population studies. JSTOR
is a work in progress, and will continue to expand its coverage.
Areas planned to be added next are Asian studies, philosophy,
sociology and the sciences.
Coverage dates: varies by title; usually from the first volume
through the late 1980s or early 1990s.

Kluwer Academuic Publishers recently merged with Springer Verlag. The SpringerLink ejournals platform now links to more than 1,250 journals,
including all former Kluwer Academic journals. You may browse or search the content from the SpringerLink homepage.

Academic Universe
This is a powerful research tool featuring a rich variety of full
text sources. It provides up-to-date information on current events,
business, law, and medicine. It includes regional, national, and
international newspapers; magazines; wire services; business publications
(trade journals, corporate annual reports, tax sources); legal
resources (law reviews, court cases, briefs, federal and state
codes); government documents; medical information (medical journals);
and reference sources (directories, biographical information).

LINK contains over 400 fulltext journals and books published by
Springer-Verlag and other publishers. You may browse the entire
list of journals and select individual titles or search the entire
database. You can also browse by Online Libraries in the life

medicine, physics & astronomy, engineering, environmental
sciences, and economics.

- Making of America
Making of America (MOA) is a digital library of primary sources
in American social history from the antebellum period through
reconstruction. The collection is particularly strong in the subject
areas of education, psychology, American history, sociology, religion,
and science and technology. This site provides access to 267 monograph
volumes and over 100,000 journal articles with 19th century imprints.
The project represents a major collaborative endeavor in preservation
and electronic access to historical texts.

This collection includes complete full text coverage of over 40
journals published by the Johns Hopkins University Press. You
may search the entire MUSE database by full text, article, author,
or keyword, either in a single journal, among specific journals,
or across all journals. The database supports Boolean searches.
You may also browse individual journal tables of contents and
select articles. Coverage dates: varies by title; usually from
1996 to the present.

This database and ejournal collection provides abstracts and full
text of articles in hundreds of popular periodicals and scholarly
journals. It includes articles indexed in Periodical Abstracts
(Research II edition), Newspaper Abstracts (National edition),
and ABI/Inform (Global edition). It covers a wide range of subjects,
including the arts, business, commentary, computers, consumer
issues, current events, education, health, lifestyles, literary
reviews, politics, and science. Coverage dates: approx. 1986 to

SIAM has a comprehensive publishing program in applied and computational
