Home > For Peabody Faculty > Instruction Program > Policy for Requesting Course-Related Library Instruction
Instruction sessions should be requested no fewer than 10 days in advance. The following information should be given to the Librarian when a session is requested:
- Instructor contact information
- Information about the assignment- provide a copy of course syllabus
- Assignment due date
- Class location
- Number and level of students in the session
- Preferred /alternate dates for sessions
Having the course instructor present during the session enhances the effectiveness of learning, therefore we request your attendance at the class.
Instruction sessions are most effective when scheduled near the time of a particular assignment.
Before creating a research component for your class, consider consulting your library liaison. The Peabody Library Liaisons are as follows:
| Department | Liaison | E-mail Address | Phone |
|---|---|---|---|
| Human and Organizational Development | Leslie Foutch | Send a message to Leslie | 3-7541 |
| Leadership, Policy, and Organizations | Celia Walker | Send a message to Celia | 2-8096 |
| Psychology and Human Development | Leslie Foutch | Send a message to Leslie | 3-7541 |
| Special Education | Lee Ann Lannom | Send a message to Lee Ann | 3-2915 |
| Teaching and Learning | Lee Ann Lannom | Send a message to Lee Ann | 3-2915 |
For the session to be most effective, discuss with your students the importance of the upcoming library class and its relevance to the class assignment. Students should bring a copy of their class assignment to the library session.
Students will be asked to complete an evaluation that will help us to improve our instruction program. We would also appreciate comments from faculty regarding the session.
