Boardmaker, Inspiration, and Kidspiration
These CD-ROM programs are available for check out for a 3 day period. They are shelved in the Print/Media Reserve area in the Multimedia Room located in the rear of the Reference Area. They are shelved under the name Lannom. You can only use the software on the workstation located in the Design Studio, Room 302 in the library.
Here is a brief description of the programs:
Boardmaker: Database of 3,500+ picture communication symbols used to make printed communication boards, device overlays, worksheets, schedules, calendars, etc.
Inspiration: The premier tool to develop ideas & organize thinking. A tool students grade 6 to adult rely on to plan, research and complete projects successfully. With the integrated Diagram and Outline Views, they create graphic organizers, develop ideas and expand topics into writing. As a result, students gain and retain a better understanding of concepts and demonstrate knowledge, improving their performance across the curriculum.
Kidspiration: Created for K-5 learners, Kidspiration provides an easy way to apply the proven principles of visual learning. Students build graphic organizers by combining pictures, text and spoken words to represent thoughts and information. Younger learners develop early literacy skills and more advanced students improve comprehension skills and organize their ideas for writing.
