The
VU e-Archive: Vanderbilt University's Electronic Archive
This procedure requires
that you already have a login and password for VU e-Archive** (see below)
At the URL http://e-archive.vanderbilt.edu
click on the My VU e-Archive in the left column. On the next screen, enter your
e-mail address and password.
Select Collection:
Click on the arrow at the right of the drop-down box and select a collection from the list.
The minimum required
to submit an item is to add a title, upload the item, and click through the
license agreement. All other steps are optional, although you may add other
information such as keywords or an abstract to the appropriate boxes.
The title is added in
a box near the top of the third screen.
If none of the info
on a screen applies to your item, the screen may be skipped. To page through
each screen, click “next”.
Upload the Item:
The document is
uploaded to the VU e-Archive from your computer on screen five. Click on the
"browse" button and navigate through your directories and folders.
Find the correct file to upload, double-click on the file name and it will be
entered into the input box. Screen six identifies the file, and indicates that
it was successfully uploaded.
Screen seven offers a
chance to review and correct any of the information you have entered.
License Agreement:
The license agreement
(a non-exclusive distribution license) is on the next screen. By clicking on
this agreement you give Vanderbilt the right to retain one copy of your item.
You retain the copyright. Once you have granted the license, your submission is
complete.
Review and
acceptance:
Next, a librarian
will review your metadata and add any missing information prior to accepting
your item into the VU e-Archive. This may take several days. You will receive
e-mail notification as soon as your item has become a part of the collection.
