Study Space
Study space is very
limited in the Central Library. Available study spaces include:
- Group study room
on the fourth floor (Room 4F0). It includes a small round table and four
chairs. It is open to students on a first-come,
first-served basis. Check-out the key to this room at the Central Circulation desk.
- Group study room
on the sixth floor (Room 612C) entered from the Payne reading room.
It holds a conference table with six chairs and a whiteboard. It is open to students on a first-come, first served basis. Check-out the key to this room at the Central Circulation desk.
- Carrels,
located throughout the library. If you qualify, you may reserve a carrel
for study use. You may also use any unoccupied carrel, however, you
may be asked to vacate at the request of the person who reserved it.
- The Payne Room
Study Space (formerly Microform and Media Center) on the 6th floor (south
side) has tables and carrels for individual and group study.
- The Reference Room
just past the Reference Desk has a number of large tables suitable for
quiet individual or group study.
- Government Information
has study space in its Reference area.
- There is a study
area with lounge style seating on the 6th floor opposite the main elevator
and restrooms.
- There are tables
for group study in the Arts Collection on the 8th floor.
