  • PsycINFO
    The most comprehensive index for Psychology: indexes journal articles, books and book chapters, and dissertations, and provides direct links to some online articles.
  • Medline via PubMed
    Indexes articles in the medical literature, including many aspects of psychology, from the mid 1960's to the present. A particularly helpful feature is the ability to find "Related Articles" from references. The PubMed Tutorial, from the National Library of Medicine, gives techniques for author and phrase searching and shows how the database interprets searches.
  • Web of Knowledge
    Consists of the Science Citation Index, 1965- and the Social Sciences Citation Index, 1990- Provides wide subject coverage and unique ways of searching for related articles.

Literature Monitoring Services (Email Alerts)

You can register with these services to receive email (daily, weekly, monthly) when new papers on a topic or by particular authors are published.

You can also use "Acorn Alerts" to receive email notices of new library books with authors or subjects you choose.

  • Acorn Catalog - select 'Account Login'. Once logged in, you'll be able to choose authors and subjects from each search to add to your profile.

Psychology Encyclopedias, Books, Test Reviews

Titles can be searched and read online, but printing is prohibited. Many MIT press titles are also available in Netlibrary (which allows selective printing).
