How Central Librarians Can Help with Your Instruction

Central librarians offer a variety of services to help faculty and TAs achieve their instructional goals. These include:

  • Order books or multimedia resources to support your teaching.

  • Teach a library instruction session customized for your class.

  • Create a handout or web guide for your class that highlights library resources of interest.

  • Assist you with creating assignments that deter plagiarism.

  • Answer questions about placing materials on reserve, whether in print or electronically.

  • Work with you to identify resources, both print and electronic, that will best answer your students’ research questions.

  • Give assistance with adding links to online articles, journals, books or databases to your course pages.
  • Arrange a library tour or database demonstration for your students.

  • Answer any questions you might have about Central Library policies and resources.

  • Consult with you to update or create library research assignments that will support your instructional goals.

If you would like to consult with a Central librarian about instruction related services, simply send an email to the librarian for your subject area.
