Central Library Collections

Scope of Collection

Jean and Alexander Heard Library is the collective name of the Vanderbilt library system. Located in the General Library Building, the Central Library has the largest collection of the nine campus libraries. Materials include resources in the arts, humanities, and social sciences; general reference collection; reserve materials for most undergraduate courses; reading rooms and faculty and graduate student carrels; depository for federal and United Nations documents; microform and media center; leisure reading collection; and the W. T. Bandy Center for Baudelaire and Modern French Studies. For specific information on collection levels by subject see the conspectus.
