Travel Collection

The Travel Collection provides a selection of travel and tour guides for both U.S. and international destinations. This collection does not aim to be comprehensive in coverage, but does offer travel guides for some of the most popular travel destinations. It is primarily focused on publications that support recreational or vacation travel.

The Travel Collection is shelved just inside the entrance to the Reference Room, just past the Reference Desk. The books in this collection are arranged in call number order, which groups titles together by common subject or geographic location. Older editions of some travel guides are available in the library stacks and may be identified using the Acorn online catalog. Travel Collection books circulate for a period of two weeks and may be renewed once, if no other patron has placed a "hold" on a particular book.

Patrons are welcome to offer suggestions for additions to the Travel Collection. These suggestions may be offered at the Reference Desk or sent via e-mail to cenref@library.vanderbilt.edu or a message to David Carpenter.
