NOTE: Remember to come up with a list of keywords on your topic. Most article databases
won't search for natural language or sentences, only keywords and short phrases. However, you can often combine
these with connectors like AND, OR, NEAR in many of the databases (check the HELP screens in a database
for more information about searching).
Think of as many different ways
of describing your topic as you can to generate your keywords.
Example keywords:

History and Life
- Contains over 383,000 records dealing with American and Canadian history and culture.
Includes indexing and abstracts. Click "Click here
to access your subscription" and choose America History and Life.
- Anthropological Literature
- The principal index to articles, essays and other publications in anthropology, archaeology and related
subjects, it is derived from the periodicals and books owned by the Tozzer Library of Harvard University.
Includes works published in English and other European languages from the late 19th century to the
present. Selective coverage of art history, demography, economics, psychology, and religious studies.
- Contemporary
Women's Issues (CWI)
- Provides full-text access to global information on women. Journals, newsletters, and research reports from
non-profit groups, government and international agencies are easily accessed through CWI. Information on
women in over 190 countries is compiled in a single collection bringing together such disciplines as
sociology, psychology, health, education, business administration and political science.
- Sociological Abstracts
- Focuses on sociology and related disciplines. Sociological Abstracts indexes over 2000 journals from about 55 countries,
providing bibliographic citations and abstracts for the journal articles.
