Historical or Biographical Note

Dr. William Hugh Trimble was born October 25, 1902 in Hogansville, Georgia, son of William A. and Lina Brazell Trimble. William H. Trimble graduated from Emory University in 1923 and received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania Medical School in 1927. He completed a residency Vanderbilt University Hospital in 1931, and practiced medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, for over twenty-five years. He served as a member of the Emory Unit from Atlanta, Georgia, in World War II, being stationed in North Africa from 1943-1945. Trimble married Grace Fincher and had three children: Ann, William, and Grace. He died at age 52 on July 26, 1955 in Atlanta, Georgia.
