Historical or Biographical Note

Max Knowles Moulder graduated from the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 1929. After interning at the University of Nebraska Hospital, he was a surgical resident at the Fifth Avenue Hospital and the St. Luke's Hospital in New York City.

From 1933-1936 Moulder practiced surgery in Nashville, returning to New York in 1937 as a urological resident at Kings County Hospital. Entering the Army Medical Corps in 1942, he served overseas until 1943 and was Chief of Urology of Harmon General Hospital from 1943-1946. He was discharged in 1946 with the rank of Lieutenant.

Moulder resumed his practice as a urologist in Nashville and served on the staffs of Vanderbilt, General, St. Thomas, Baptist, and Madison Hospitals. He passed away in 1967.
