Historical or Biographical Note

John Giglio Coniglio, Ph.D., received his B.S. degree in chemistry at Furman University in 1940 and his Ph.D. in biochemistry at Vanderbilt University in 1949. He was appointed Professor of Biochemistry at Vanderbilt in 1963 and has served as vice-chairman of the Southeastern Section of the Society for Experimental Biology and Medicine. Dr. Coniglio died in 2001.
