Historical or Biographical Note

Dr. Gottlieb Friesinger II was born in Zanesville, Ohio, in 1929. He has degrees from Muskigum College and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He served as Chief Resident of Osler Medical Service at Hopkins. Dr. Friesinger taught at Hopkins before accepting positions at Vanderbilt in 1971 as Professor of Medicine and Director of the Division of Cardiology. Dr. Friesinger was anoted author and accomplished researcher.
