Cooperative Library Agreement

Vanderbilt Library Borrowing Policy for Fisk Patrons


For most libraries and most collections the following terms apply. Exceptions to these policies can be found on individual Vanderbilt libraries’ webpages. See library-specific policies.

General Loan Periods and Terms

Loan period 28 days
Renewals
Unlimited renewals if books are brought to the circulation
desk; four renewals allowed online. Recalled materials may not be renewed.
Overdue fines $.20/day; 7 day grace period, during which time fines do not accumulate, but after 7 days, the fine is calculated from due date.
Overdue notices If e-mail is chosen as preferred communication, “due today” notices are sent on due date.
Recalls Books may be recalled at any time; the recall due date will be no earlier than two weeks from the original checkout date. The recall overdue fine is $1/day in addition to the regular overdue fine, if applicable.
Billing Once an item has been overdue for 70 days, patrons are billed for the accumulated fine, the price of the book, and a $35 processing fee.
Returns Books may be returned to any of the Vanderbilt libraries.
Other collections For collections not covered by the above loan period, see the individual libraries’ web pages and/or consult with library staff. Leisure reading materials and government documents circulate for two weeks. Arts books circulate for 3 days.
