The Vanderbilt University Libraries (except Eskind Biomedical Library)
are open to the public during designated daytime hours, all days of the week. During evenings,
libraries have designated hours when a Vanderbilt ID card is required for entry.
See library hours for details.
Vanderbilt Commodore cards are generally required
for library access and use. These cards are issued by the Vanderbilt
Card Office. For the Vanderbilt community, these cards are issued
automatically for a variety of uses on campus, and can be applied
for directly. For those not directly affiliated with the University,
the Library authorizes Commodore Card issuance where the intent
is to use them for library access and/or borrowing. Potential
patrons should review the list of categories below and apply in
the designated way for getting a Card. Funds can be added to the
Card, in person at the Card Office or over the Web (if the patron
has an email address and assigned PIN), and these funds can be
used for printing in the libraries and in various vending locations
around campus.
Children under the age of fourteen must be accompanied at all times by a parent or another adult who has a valid Vanderbilt ID.
