Help with Acorn
Printing, e-mailing or downloading search results
Note: printing is not available at
all library workstatons.
- Use the checkboxes to mark records for viewing, printing, e-mailing
or downloading.
The maximum number of records may be printed, e-mailed or downloaded
at one time is 50. If you anticipate saving more than 50 records,
note the record numbers on scratch paper rather than marking them.
- Select the Print/E-mail button at the top or bottom of a search
results screen.
If records were marked, the record numbers will transfer into the
resulting form.
If no records were marked, the form will default to the first record
in a results set. Type in the desired record numbers, using a hyphen
to designate ranges and commas to separate numbers (for example: 1-2,9,12,14).
Records marked in one search will not be carried over
into other searches.
- Select the type of output, view of records, and sort key. If CALLNUMBER
is selected as the sort key, select ASCENDING or DESCENDING.
Selecting FORMATTED records reproduces the way
the records look in Acorn; FLAT ASCII yields unformatted text
with MARC
record field numbers instead of textual field labels such as author,
title, etc.
Selecting BRIEF view retrieves only basic citation
information: author, title, publication information, series and call
number. FULL view adds ISBN/ISSN, notes, and subject headings.
ALL adds specialized cataloging information such as the cataloging
source, fixed fields, additional call numbers, etc.
- Click on one of the four buttons: VIEW, SAVE, PRINT,
or EMAIL. Note that SAVE and PRINT yield new pages
that must be printed or saved using browser functions.
